Thanks for being patient again! I’m still trying to get a natural rhythm with pages. Slowly but surely.

I’ve got some crazy news though. We found out this week that my husband is being re-stationed to England this year! We’re going to be living in the UK for the next 3 to 4 years. Pretty crazy to think about, but I’m really excited! I’m a little stressed about doing all the necessary moving stuff, but I know it’ll be great in the long run. I’ll found out this week when we’ll be moving, but it’s looking to be sometime around November. I find it ironic we got England since we have two corgis, so they’ll fit right in!

EDIT: Update tomorrow. I think I’ll permanently move it to Sundays for now. It seems to work better with my weekly schedule. I also have exciting news to share tomorrow!

Theo can try and avoid the difficult conversation, but Tamiko is not gonna let him.

I’ve also decided, I really like the ship name Theora for Theo and Aurora. What do you guys think? I’m not always the best with this, but I really liked this one!

My husband has a huge military rank test on Tuesday, which also happens to be his birthday unfortunately. I’m hoping after we can celebrate at a restaurant by the bay/ocean. We were hoping to go to the beach but we’re currently dealing with a tropical storm here. Just typical Florida things, haha.

I forgot to add the white marks that show when things open or make a sound, or when people turn their heads. But I feel like that is something only I’ll notice. I’ll add it later.

I’m not going to comment much on everything that is going on right now in the U.S. I want this to be a place of peace and rest from all the chaos in the world– a place to escape reality for a bit. My heart is very heavy and heartbroken for my country and the people here.

I finally found a line art brush I LOVE in CSP. I’m so happy. I’m not constantly relining eyes with the default G pen anymore.

I painted a more realistic painting of Tamiko. I want to practice painting more and find a painting style I like to do consistently. I do like how this turned out, although she looks a bit older than I wanted, but that’s part of the learning process. 🙂

Hope my fellow American readers are having a wonderful Memorial Day Weekend! I spent it repainting and staining crappy/cheap furniture pieces we’ve had for years. They look a million times better now and it was a fun learning experience.

Oh! We also found a wasp nest on our front porch today. So that was fun lol. I will let you all know how that progresses. So far Jared 4, Wasps 0.

I also drew this earlier this week of Theo and Aurora to celebrate his (adult) appearance in the comic finally!

I tried more gradients on this page, and I really like the results. It took me a bit longer, but once I get the hang of it, it’ll be easier. I think it just adds a bit more than what I was doing before. Idk if anyone can tell the difference lol but I definitely can.

I painted a little tribute to one of my favorite Christian apologists, Ravi Zacharias. He’s not doing good right now and it breaks my heart. 2020 has definitely thrown a lot of curve balls and surprises this year.

EDIT: The comic will be updated Sunday night, so people aren’t checking all day. I tried a little bit of a different coloring method that takes a bit longer but I really like the results.

Fun fact: I’ve always loved the name Aurora, but my husband vetoed it almost immediately because it reminds him of Aurora, Colorado where we grew up. So, I used it for Aurora in the comic instead because it felt fitting for her.

I’m starting to get a better work flow with these, which is a huge plus! I’ll be less distracted next week, my husband got called back into work and starts again on Monday. Sadly, he’ll be on 2 weeks of 12 hour shifts. :/ A lot of Airmen have immune compromised dependents, so Jared had to switch with someone early, which is completely understandable. There’s just other things going on that are a bit frustrating.

I got news that one of my favorite spots in Denver will be closing down next year. I’m super bummed about it, but the owner just isn’t making enough profit to keep it open. (Not due to Covid at all). But what’s even more sad, is it got sold to build another high rise downtown. I get why these changes have to happen, but I really miss how Denver used to be. Growing up, it was like a secret city. I’m thankful I got to experience it all before it got “popular” because it doesn’t feel the same anymore. I hope to be able to go back before the restaurant closes in January.

I’m excited too that beaches are opening back up here in Florida, at least for swimming and walking, not lounging around. I’ve really missed going to the ocean and just walking along the beach.

Thanks to everyone being patient with me on this one. Last week was pretty wild, both good and bad. Good news, is my husband has yet another month off fully paid by the military. He keeps saying this is the biggest scam he’s ever been apart of. I’m happy for him though, he really deserves some time off, but it threw off our week completely trying to prepare for him going to work on top of all the virus mandates going on.

I woke up today with a horrible head/ear cold. I swear, I get one every spring. I blame allergies even if that’s not the cause. I was hoping this year by not being around people, maybe I wouldn’t get one.

If you want some inspiration or uplifting music to listen to right now, I highly recommend Colony House. They’re slowly becoming one of my favorite bands to listen to. This song I had on repeat a bit today. So, so good.

Hope everyone is having a good week, considering all that’s been going on. I really love how the top part of this page turned out.

My friend bought me Animal Crossing for my birthday and I’ve been a little obsessed with it as of late lol. I’ve never played Animal Crossing before and it reminds me a ton of Harvest Moon games which I absolutely LOVED growing up. So, I’m pretty stoked.
