Fan Art Entries

The middle is an illustration I’ve been working on for this page, I’m hoping to finish it soon for this page but it will also be a separate illustration.

Everyone has been curious about Eon, so here we get a slight snippet into him. I found it interesting people thought he was Emaré’s brother, but I do tend to draw him younger, as that’s where a lot of his story relevance takes place.

This was also an illustration of Eon and his wife (Emaré’s mom) I did last year.

We met Lieutenant Michel back in 2×05, he’s Cain’s right hand man.

I haven’t gone much into what languages and cultures I’ve based this story off of, and I felt it was a fitting time to explain some of that now, since the comic won’t really hit on this for obvious reasons lol.

It has been hinted already that there are two types of ethnicities in Ecra’Mor, the Ecrians and the Moros. Adrien references this when he says he speaks Ecrian and Moros, but can’t do what Kyan can do with his abilities. More of this will be discussed in the comic of course, but some of the subtle differences between these groups I’m sure people have noticed so far. Moros I’ve based off of Italian/Latin roots. I tend to mix cultures together when making fantasy cultures. Take Solhara for example, I’ve combined Norse/Scandinavian cultures with some Scottish/Celtic mixed in. When looking for names I tend to think about these cultures and languages they would speak, but sometimes I also used what fits right for the character, so it’s not always a hard rule. Tamiko’s name I wanted to be very different from her family, but I understood readers might not pick up on it unless I had Emaré point this out that it was of Xia origin, not Solharan.

I did something similar with “Biaggio”, not only is it of Italian origin but it also means “one who stutters”. I felt it sounded ridiculous enough to fit this character, as he is all over the place.

Thanks for your patience, I’ve had a busy week trying to help my mom with the passing of my uncle, and it’s been difficult with the time difference between here and the states. Thank you for all the kind words and prayers, my mom has greatly appreciated them as well.

I realized I hadn’t named this guy in the draft, so while googling “cringey” names, I was absolutely shocked at some of the names kids have now. The funniest I found was “Apology” and “Alphabeta”. I pray these are jokes and not real lol.

Edit 2/15: There won’t be a comic update this week, I found out my Uncle passed away suddenly. Updates will continue next week along with the entries for the art contest. Hope everyone had a wonderful Valentine’s Day!

Colors are 70% done, but I didn’t want to keep anyone waiting anymore! It was really hard to choose from both categories, I really loved everyone’s ideas and it was interesting to see how people viewed each character and did their interactions. That’s always the fun part about these contests to me, you see who people really love and who people really do not like in the story LOL.

FAN FIC ENTRIES

Reinheart is a dappled shire horse like the image below. I love the idea of Em being really small but her horse being absolutely giant.

I’ve mentioned before our boiler has been a problem in our house since we’ve moved in. The old one died the first day we moved in here (on Christmas lol) and the new one has had problems where it refused to turn on, but this week it decided it won’t turn off and we’ve been living in a sauna. We’ve tried everything to fix it ourselves, so that put me behind this week trying to figure it out and calling people, etc. All the fun adulty stuff.

My only real qualm with England is… people take their time here lol, a little too much. Unless it’s an extreme emergency, it’s a real hassle to get people to come out and fix things you need done and our poor landlord tries everything he can, but he has to work with the leasing company (because of laws here) which is where the hassle stems from. He’s even paid out of his own pocket to fix stuff for us because we couldn’t get anyone at the leasing company to answer the phone. I’ve come to know no Brit likes their leasing company. They are all equally terrible. I’m thankful we have a good landlord though!

If you follow my instagram, you’ll know Jared and I found a lost rabbit. Thankfully, we found it’s owners after a couple of days! My corgis were not happy about our new guest at all.

I’ve been absolutely LOVING Alchemy of Souls this winter. I waited to watch the first season until the second season aired and I’m so thankful I did. I cannot recommend it enough, even if you aren’t a kdrama person, I think if you like fantasy, romance, and action, you’ll definitely enjoy it. This is something I did as a warm up this week inspired by the show. I’d like to do more fan art once things calm down a bit for me. I’ve felt so inspired by this show as of late, it’s everything I’ve wanted to see in a fantasy series.
