After Tamiko asked for a reason on why Kyan would be hesistant, he thought back to what Cain said to him on 2×21. What will Kyan say to Tamiko? Do we trust Cain? These are the deep questions.

Here’s the sketch for today’s page, should have the colors tomorrow! I’ve been lining a ton of the pages I’ve been needing to, hopefully going to be able to have them all flat and colored soon as well.

In case you missed it I announced the contest on last week’s page, there is a fanfiction and fanart contest going on. I plan to announce it on instagram later this week too.

Finally catching up, thanks for all the prayers and well wishes while I was sick. I feel much better finally and slowly feeling back to normal fully.

Now for the contest!

I decided on a fanart and fanfic contest, both will have their rewards for a winner. You are free to enter both contests if you wish.

Fanart Contest:

Theme: Redraw any character(s) from a popular media (movies, tv, comics, etc). It can be from any franchise or media you like or feel the character(s) fit. For example, in the past I have redrawn Kyan and Tamiko as Westley and Princess Buttercup from The Princess Bride. You can redraw a scene completely with the character(s) or put them in your own illustration, it’s up to you. I will be judging on the creativity of the character(s) you chose and the media you chose for them.

Fanfic Contest:

Theme: Similar to the fanart contest, I want the fanfics theme to be based around fairy tales. It can be any form of fairy tale or mythology that you want to write the characters in. It doesn’t have to follow the fairy tale fully, but when reading it, I want to be able to tell what fairy tale inspired you.

Deadline: January 15th, 2023.

I want to give everyone plenty of time with the holidays coming up, let me know if this gives you all enough time, I’m willing to extend it further if you guys think you’ll need more time.

Winners and Rewards: There will be one winner from each section, you can only win one, but you may participate in both. If I choose someone for a winner in one I will not choose you as a winner in the other.

Both winners will win a fully colored commission work of whatever they want from me. It can be your own character or fan art of other characters. I will ask no more than two characters in the entire illustration, but they can be as stylized or rendered as you want, background included.

Lastly, please keep everything safe for work! Don’t do anything above PG 13 please. I don’t mind some blood or violence if needed (think LOTR or Star Wars level PG 13), but nothing rated R. Please respect the characters and the age range the comic itself has.

When you want the tea, but get none.

Jared came back from Norway this week, so I was spending time picking him up and getting him situated again. We also went on an endless hunt for eggs, I’m not sure if there’s a shortage here, but it sure felt like it after going to 7 different shops lol.

I’m finally done with all my commissions that had really strict timelines, so I can devote more time to coloring pages now. I’ve also come up with an idea for a contest, I’m thinking of doing a fanart and fanfiction contest. I’ll be posting the information with next week’s update.

Tonight there’s supposed to be a Meteor Shower here in the UK, I’m hoping the skies clear up a bit so we can see it.

I’m thinking of taking a week off next week from updating to finish some commission work and fully color these pages. Is it cruel of me to do this on a cliff hanger? Yes.

I’m also thinking of hosting another contest soon for readers. I thought around December might be fun, but I know the holidays are extremely busy for people too, so maybe I’ll host one around New Years. What would you guys like to see for a contest? I know not everyone is an artist, so I try to come up with ideas everyone can participate in and equally have a shot. Let me know what you guys think!

I’ll be able to color both this and last week’s page this weekend. Jared has a trip to Norway soon and I’ve been busy helping him prepare for that on top of commission work.

This page is taking me forever to line, so here’s the very messy sketch phase. I also realized today I completely forgot to upload the colored version of last week’s page. I had it done since Thursday. Whoops.

I’ve been doing a bit of inktober over on instagram, nothing too crazy yet. I’d love to do every day once in my life, but that easier said that done lol.
